WHITE DIGIT LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Expense AI mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.
By using Expense AI, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Personal Data
Expense AI is designed with privacy in mind. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
Financial Data
All expense, budget, category, and transaction data you enter into the App is stored locally on your device and synced via Apple iCloud if enabled. We do not have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to our servers.
Receipt Images
When you scan or import a receipt, the image and any text extracted from it are processed on your device and stored locally, synced via Apple iCloud if enabled. Receipt images are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
Camera & Photo Access
The App requests access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to scan or attach a receipt. These permissions are used solely for that purpose, and the App does not access your camera or photos at any other time.
AI Features
Expense AI uses artificial intelligence to read receipts, suggest categories, and surface insights about your spending. This processing runs on your device. Your financial data and receipt images are not sent to our servers or to any third-party AI provider for this purpose.
AI-generated suggestions are provided to help you organize your finances and may not always be accurate. You remain in control and can edit or remove any AI-suggested information at any time.
How We Use Information
The information you enter is used solely to:
- Provide expense tracking and budgeting features within the App
- Generate on-device AI categorization and spending insights
- Sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing.
Third-Party Services
Apple iCloud
Your App data is automatically synced to your personal iCloud account via CloudKit when iCloud is enabled. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The sync happens automatically with no additional setup required, and your data remains under your control within your own iCloud account.
Data Retention
Your expense, receipt, and transaction data remains on your device and iCloud account under your control. You can delete individual entries within the App, or delete all App data at any time by deleting the App from your device. Data stored in iCloud can be managed through your device's iCloud settings.
Data Security
We value your trust and prioritize the security of your information. Your financial data and receipt images are stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security features. Data synced to iCloud is encrypted by Apple.
Children's Privacy
Expense AI is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Right to access your data
- Right to delete your data
- Right to withdraw consent
Because your data is stored only on your device and in your own iCloud account, you can exercise these rights directly: manage or delete your data within the App, or remove it entirely by deleting the App from your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
