Is OweMate free?
Yes. You can track unlimited people, transactions and currencies for free, with ads. OweMate Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, that removes ads and adds PDF statements and instant reminders.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no sign-up, email or phone number. Open the app and add your first transaction.
Where is my data stored?
On your device and in your own iCloud account, so it syncs between your iPhone and iPad. We don't run a server that receives your ledger, and we can't see it.
Will the AI reminders work on my iPhone?
AI-written reminders need an iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on, and they're written on the device. On other iPhones, OweMate gives you a ready-made message instead, in the same Friendly, Urgent or Formal tones.
Can I track money in different currencies?
Yes. Each person can have balances in several currencies at once. Each one stays its own line and is never converted.
Is OweMate for splitting bills?
OweMate is built for personal IOUs: money you lend to or borrow from friends, family and roommates, often paid back bit by bit over weeks or months. It isn't a group bill-splitting app.
